Reclaim Your Fertility in 2025: Neuroscience and Ayurveda Unite in Transformative Retreat

Ananda launches new fertility retreat with Zita West

As women’s health takes centre stage in global wellbeing trends, the connection between stress, lifestyle and fertility has never been stronger. With over 1 in 6 adults experiencing infertility*, modern life’s demands – from environmental pollutants to digital burnout – are putting reproductive health under immense pressure.

Against this backdrop, Ananda in the Himalayas, the world’s leading holistic wellness retreat, had launched its groundbreaking Fertility Enhancement programme in 2024, and has since been providing transformative solutions for clients from all over the world. To expend it's offering, this year, Ananda is joining forces with internationally renowned fertility expert Zita West to conduct a revolutionary fertility retreat in June.

Set to take place from 2–12 June 2025, this unique 10-night programme is designed to empower participants with the latest in neuroscience-backed techniques, integrated with Ayurvedic therapies. As interest in holistic approaches to health grows, this retreat offers a transformative experience, enabling individuals to reconnect with their natural cycles, balance hormones, and enhance their fertility through the mind-body connection.

Zita West is one of the world’s leading fertility and pregnancy specialists, renowned for her ‘whole-body’ approach and her promotion of the powerful role of the mind-body connection. Kate Winslet, who consulted Zita during her own pregnancy, anointed her “a fertility and pregnancy guru,” explaining that “Zita’s approach is calm, sensible, down-to-earth and often inspirational.”

“We’re living through tremendous change both socially and digitally. Women have become disconnected from their bodies, relying on apps, gadgets and gizmos to seek knowledge about fertility, feeling overwhelmed, bewildered and lost, with almost 40% reporting high stress levels, anxiety and depression. This retreat is an empowering opportunity to reset, recharge and take control of their fertility journey in an entirely new way,” says Zita West

Collaborating with Zita is Dr. Naresh Perumbuduri, Ananda’s Senior Ayurvedic Physician and Fertility Programme lead. He says, “A chronic disturbance in the body’s natural rhythm or Dinacharya leads to an array of problems connected to our stress responses and toxin build up. This eventually leads to an undesired domino effect of hormonal imbalance that cross the 6 vital layers of tissues before they finally affect the reproductive seed or shukra.

"Ananda uses Vajikarana, an ancient Ayurvedic science to enhance the quality of shukra or reproductive seed that contain within them the essence of all body tissues or dhatus. Besides advanced health tech for diagnostic or curative purposes, people need empowering guidance and a personalised road map based on what truly works to improve their fertility.”

Open to all, the retreat’s holistic approach is rooted in neuroscience – using guided visualisations to engage the brain, heart and reproductive system. Everyone has mind and body blocks caused by past life experiences, upbringing and family history. To address this, the programme helps to create a calm and meditative mindset. Guests will gain a deeper understanding of the physical, emotional and energetic aspects of health vital in fertility.

By nurturing the Brain-Heart-Uterus-Gut connection in daily coaching sessions with Zita, participants are enabled to heal from within, cultivate emotional resilience, reduce stress, balance hormones, and support the body’s fertility potential.

Alongside the coaching sessions, Ananda’s Ayurvedic experts will apply Shodhana therapies (purificatory), including elements of specialised Panchakarma fertility techniques for cleansing toxins and improving metabolic function. Restorative Shamana therapies (restorative) are used with therapeutic oils to reduce stress, improve mood, and regulate the secretion of healthy hormones. Diet therapy and use of Ayurvedic herbal remedies support the restorative phase.

Expert, personalised guidance
Each guest is given expert guidance and a personalised mind-body-spirit plan, based on Zita’s proven four-step module to improve their fertility against the many challenges of the modern age. Guests will be shown how to trust in the wisdom of their own bodies, finding inner peace through neuroscience-backed techniques, Ayurvedic therapies, therapeutic yoga, breathwork and chakra healing - to reduce stress, let go of fear and help take control of their fertility and their overall wellbeing.

In all the years I’ve been working in fertility, I’ve always believed in a mind, body, spirit approach. All three need to be addressed in order to truly optimise conception. So often, women focus on and search for the physical answers when sometimes, you need to look within. This retreat, the first of its kind, offers a truly mind-body-spirit approach.” — Zita West

Retreat pricing: From USD9,500 for single occupancy, USD15,000 for a double/twin on an all inclusive basis for 10 nights.

Notes to Editors:

* Research published in 2023 by WHO. In some parts of the world, the average 20-something woman today is less fertile than her grandmother was at thirty-five. Male fertility is also affected.
