Meet the team

  • Enthusiastic, creative and passionate, especially about steering Indigo8 for the benefit of people and the planet. Thrives on working with inspiring founders, visionary leaders and incredible locations. Has worked in PR and communications for over 20 years and for nearly a decade with Indigo8. Offers extensive experience in brand launches, original strategic campaigns and media management drawn through a range of clients including tourist boards (Sri Lanka, Sweden, Ireland and Barbados), tour operators, spas, restaurants and hotel brands such as Taj Hotels & Resorts and One&Only as well as boutique collections. Highlights with Indigo8 clients include trekking to see gorillas in Uganda, seeking out bears in the Italian Apennines and spotting beavers in Cornwall. Believes in the importance of regeneration for both personal wellbeing and planetary survival. Is a qualified personal trainer, committed runner, keen hiker and daily yogi.

  • Delivering results, usually beyond expectation, has earned a deep sense of trust and affection from clients.  A steady, dependable style belies a laser sharp focus to her work. For 15 years, headed up Four Seasons corporate UK profile and continues to guide many of their Asian properties today towards top-class, award-winning results. An enviable black book of contacts is deployed at lightning speed with media who have come to recognise her reliability and honesty. In an increasingly challenged media world, there is appreciation for the PR that makes their job easier and never wastes time. With deep knowledge of the luxury travel world, at Indigo8 attention is tuned in to holistic wellbeing and advancing the best of the new places, practitioners and ideas around.  As a working mother, a strong advocate for a daily self-care (Vedic mediation, walking, endless research into the best quality supplements), the joy of the job is a constant learning, and how to communicate the potential for a more balanced, healthier world.

  • A kind-hearted, multi-tasking get-it-done wonder woman and global spirit who has lived and worked in Borneo, Malaysia and Sydney but has long called London home. Loves progressive new spa, fitness and beauty concepts; will try anything once!  Proud of her personal impact on clients including supporting the launch of Barry’s Bootcamp UK, SHA Wellness, Wildfitness and the re-positioning of Grayshott spa before it was sold. An advocate of holistic healing, also spearheaded the meteoric rise of Katie Brindle and her Hayo’u Method. Indigo8 events are sought out and revered by media – largely down to her ruthless attention to detail and an astonishing ability for last minute problem solving. Enjoys cooking, trying out new  treatments and fitness classes, cycling and backgammon.

  • A brilliant people connector with a black book to die for. Milla began her career organising high-end luxury events for private clients on a global scale and once worked as a personal assistant to Martha Lane-Fox, Baroness of Soho, as well as joining ‘You Need a PA’, a cool pay-as-you-go personal assistance service to the ‘who’s who’. Found her calling in the world of ‘wellbeing' and went on to graduate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, becoming a health & lifestyle practitioner at Bamford Haybarn Spa in London. As a health coach and lifestyle mentor has hosted corporate workshops at Harrods and WeWorks as well as consulting for OKA’s HR. Has also run yoga and wellness retreats in the UK and Morocco. Loves making new connections and putting people and collaborations together. Joined Indigo8 in 2023, practices Vedic meditation and spends her time between Fulham and the wilds of Wiltshire.

  • Has worked on campaigns for clients in destinations as varied as the USA, Monaco, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Bali and the Maldives. Shares that being part of the Indigo8 team is a fascinating and inspiring journey which has broadened her horizons and opened a portal into delving deeper into conversations around conservation and sustainability. Graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a B.A. in History of Art. Earned an M.A. in Art Business with a concentration in Modern and Contemporary Asian Art at Sotheby’s Institute of Art New York/London, as well as an M.A. in Digital Asset and Media Management from King’s College London. Has lived in Hawaii, Philadelphia and New York but considers London to be her favourite city. Loves its vibrant energy, creativity and multiculturalism, many green spaces, and free museums and events.

  • A guiding light with over 40 years of senior leadership representing the world’s most dynamic and pioneering travel brands. Spearheaded bringing The Original Mayr in Austria and Ananda in the Himalayas, India’s first luxury spa, to a British audience. Twenty five years on, both remain clients today. Led European agency teams for Four Seasons and Taj Hotels & Resorts, and has supported dozens of authentic independents. Works intuitively and hates marketing jargon and PowerPoint deck mentality. Remaining close friends with many of her oldest clients, has become a highly respected and visionary voice of opinion within the industry. Now also a partner in The Global Retreat Company  which fuels her conviction in the power of retreating. Mentoring the next generation of Indigo8 leaders ensures the company’s future remains aligned to the Indigo8 Way values which are rooted in responsible tourism, businesses with purpose and holistic wellbeing.

  • An umbilically attached consultant to Indigo8 with over 25 years’ experience specialising in spas, wellbeing and luxury travel. Previously the editor of the Condé Nast Traveller Spa Guide (four years) and before that Tatler’s Spa Guide (seven years). Also worked on Tatler’s legendary annual compendium of ‘101 Best Hotels in the World’.  Now a freelance journalist, copywriter and creative with a specialised interest in ancient wisdoms and holistic healing. Believes the future of wellbeing lies in the convergence of science with naturalism, technology with self-nurture, and allopathic medicine with complimentary therapies. An ever-learning writer, yogi, meditator, Ayurvedic home cook, earth walker, stargazer and wild swimmer.

  • One of our longest serving members of the team. Her roles and responsibilities include Director of Staff Wellbeing (especially stress level diffusion); Client Relations Assistant (especially icebreaking with new and prospective clients); and most vitally, Head of Security at Indigo8 HQ.

Mel Cutcliffe

Indigo8 was founded in 2015 by Melanie Cutcliffe, whose career spanned 30 years in sustainable travel, conservation work, preventative health and wellbeing, sectors she so loved.

Her mission was to bring the knowledge and healing aspects of nature, be it an educational safari in Africa or the ancient medicinal wisdoms of Greece or China, to the right audience.

In February 2024, we lost Mel to cancer, aged just 54. Of the many messages from clients when she died, one from Mahesh Natarajan from Ananda in the Himalayas particularly summed up what others echoed:

“Over the last two decades, Mel has been a constant part of our lives, guiding us with nuggets of wisdom and gentle nudges in the right direction. Her unique gift was to connect idea with opportunity, to turn understanding into deeply resonating narratives.”

We miss Mel every day. Her resonance lives on in the Indigo8 Way, a vision which she helped shape. The team have pledged to respect and deliver on this vision for her clients, colleagues and family.
