Sleep Better, Learn Thai Massage and Explore Ayurveda Themed and Traditional Yoga Retreats at Vale de Moses
This summer, Vale de Moses is hosting a range of themed wellbeing retreats to complement its regular yoga weeks. Take time to disconnect, nourish your body and learn a new skill, in a truly restorative natural environment.
Located in the foothills of the Portuguese Serra de Estrela mountains, family-run Vale de Moses hosts retreats from 18 March – 27 October. Daily yoga is practised in a wooden and glass shala floating above herb gardens, surrounded by pine forests. Vale de Moses co-owner and yoga instructor Vonetta Winter, leads retreats which focus on the benefits of practicing in such beautiful, natural surroundings.
Vonetta explains: “Being surrounded by the Portuguese forests invites attention away from typical daily concerns, heightening awareness of our more intuitive or creative capacities. Being cared for in a family home, having a simple and comfortable space to rest and wholesome food to nourish is at the heart of the Vale de Moses experience.
“Add to this, experienced therapists to ease away persistent aches and pains, good company and meaningful conversation, silence and opportunity for reflection, early morning walks and late afternoon swims, breathing pure mountain air and indulging in deliciously fresh vegetarian food. All of these things makes it just a little easier for those of us feeling stressed out and pulled in all directions, to feel restored.”
Throughout the season, Vale de Moses will also welcome a series of guest yoga instructors offering a breadth of guided practices, from Pranayama and yoga flow to music, to vinyasa and ashtanga. Some signature retreats include:
