The summer for many is a time to mix relaxation with indulgence, swapping our fitness routines for glasses of Rose and ice cream. Joining Wildfitness for their retreats in Menorca this September and October promises a natural environment to re-programme unhealthy habits or set new fitness intentions as we approach the autumn.
The 7 or 14 days programmes are based in Binigaus Nou, with its dramatic mountain setting at Milia, comprising an eco village of refurbished farm buildings and rock dwellings set in the White Mountains National Park. This has become the new Mediterranean home of Wildfitness where they plan to operate for four months a year.
The programme combines outdoor wild movement sessions such as climbing, running and jumping with enlightening workshops on food: where it’s grown, how it should be cooked and the impact it has on our bodies. Everyone, whatever their fitness level, can benefit from incorporating nature into their routine.
The retreats are inclusive of accommodation, fresh and healthy meals using locally sourced, organic produce, as well as 2-4 daily group sessions, games and workshops on wild moving, living and eating. Also included are massages, immersive cultural experiences, cooking workshops, expert tuition, airport transfers and plenty of down time. Prices for the weeklong retreats start from £1,232pp based on two sharing. (www.wildfitness.com/menorca.html)
With over 16 years experience in running fitness holidays in nature rich environments and a philosophy rooted in evolutionary science and research that is backed by doctors and university lecturers, Wildfitness focuses on three elements: wild moving, wild eating and wild living. Each retreat is designed to educate and inspire a more mindful and integrative approach towards sustainable healthy living.
In addition to Menorca, Wildfitness will continue to run retreats in its other popular destinations of Costa Rica, Crete, Zanzibar and 42 Acres in Somerset.
