As the use of botox and fillers continues to be questioned, the quest for natural and highly effective solutions to look and feel good continues.
This month, Hayo’u Method launches 3 new self-care tools and rituals to help us do just that. Designed for the skin and scalp, these latest tools offer multiple health and beauty benefits. Based on highly researched massage techniques, they are extremely easy and enjoyable to use.
By creating Hayo’u Method, founder and Chinese practitioner Katie Brindle has distilled the essence of thousands of years of Chinese wisdom into simple, one-minute rituals and self-treatment tools. Through Gua sha (a massage technique using a tool) and conscious breathing exercises, you can help reduce the signs of premature ageing, while also looking after your internal health.
New products explained:
Jade Beauty Restorer Comb (£38)
What is it? Hair combing – or Combing Therapy – is an extension of Tui Na (Chinese medical massage). The new Jade Beauty Restorer Comb allows you to practice this ancient Chinese self-healing treatment at home as a simple daily ritual.
What will it do for me? Combined with the ritual, the Jade beauty Restorer Comb increases scalp stimulation. This improved circulation delivers more nutrients to the hair follicle, which in turn promotes healthy hair. Using the comb also massages all of the acupressure points of the head, regulating the meridians (energy channels) that flow through the scalp – making direct or indirect connection to all the meridians in the body. Just like gua sha, using the comb has an anti-inflammatory effect on the body. It is also a wonderful way to reduce stress – relaxing the body and mind. While relaxing you, it can also boost your energy levels, leaving you calm and energised. Lastly, the Beauty Restorer Comb deeply massages the scalp and helps clean the surface of dirt, dead skin, and dandruff.
Beauty Restorer Precision (£35)
What is it? The ultra-slim Beauty Restorer Precision tool is really simple to use, letting you get even closer to fine lines and wrinkles, particularly around the eyes and lips.
What will it do for me? The tool can be used all over the face, not just the eyes and lips. The fine tip means you can use it for longer and with pinpoint accuracy to reach every contour, line and wrinkle around your whole face. This makes it a great companion to the original Beauty Restorer. You can also use the Beauty Restorer Precision for specific areas of muscular tension on the body. The fine tip is great for mobilising scar tissue and getting right into joints to clear inflammation and stagnation.
Beauty Restorer Lite (£35)
What is it? The Beauty Restorer Lite is an ultra-slim, lighter version of the Beauty Restorer. Designed especially for those who have delicate skin but still want to get all the benefits of the Beauty Restorer, just in a gentler way.
What will it do for me? The younger we are or, on balance, the older we get, the thinner and more delicate our skin is – more sensitive when young or due to the natural loss of elastin and collagen over time, as well as hormonal changes, which weaken it.
Using this Gua sha self-massage tool mechanically stimulates mast cells to release histamine, a chemical involved in your immune system, proper digestion and central nervous system. Histamine dilates capillaries which improves circulation. The thin edge of the tool stimulates the histamine response quickly and with a lighter pressure on the tissue. This means you can improve circulation faster and with greater comfort.
For young skin, the Beauty Restorer Lite helps clear congestion, which leads to spots. It’s also great if you want to perform body Gua sha on your children.
