London’s first dedicated mindful art experience, MasterPeace launched recently in Eccleston Yards, Belgravia, alongside its curated art gallery.
Responding to increasing research* showing a link between creativity, mental-health and wellbeing, as well as connections between painting and the physiological state induced by meditation: MasterPeace offers adults a mindful painting experience.
MasterPeace is accessible to total beginners as well as the more advanced. To enable beginners to get started, guests can use MasterPeace’s light-based technology “hacks”. For example, guests can project a photograph of their choice from their smartphones onto their canvas. By painting directly onto the light, beginners leave with a finished artwork in just 90 minutes.
Catering for the time-poor of London, MasterPeace offers a regular schedule of nearly 200 sessions per month, for adults and for children, which can be booked online through the website. Sessions range from 30 to 90 minutes, from 10am-10pm, 6 days a week. Every art experience is delivered by one of MasterPeace’s 20 local, celebrated, artist instructors.
Alongside the art experience, MasterPeace introduces Eccleston Yards’ first art gallery, exhibiting curated works from award winning artists, including seascape painter Victoria Obolensky, whose work is held in the private collection of celebrities and royalty internationally.
MasterPeace is founded by Zena El Farra, 27, an entrepreneur with over ten years’ experience working in retail innovation, most recently for Barclays Ventures. Zena has launched experiences benefiting millions of people across the UK and was listed as one of the top ten women to watch in business innovation in 2018.
“MasterPeace is on a mission to make the arts accessible to all” said Zena. “Whilst MasterPeace is a luxe experience, we offer a weekly ‘Karma Class’, on a donation-only basis, to ensure everyone can afford to be part of our community”.
She is joined by Creative Director, Georgie Mason, 27, an award-winning abstract artist, who has exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Museum of Goa, with ten years’ teaching experience.
“Research is increasingly backing up what I have seen first-hand,” said Georgie, “creativity can have a hugely positive impact on our wellbeing. Plus, by creating new ways for creative and professional communities to connect through a truly unique experience, we hope to breathe fresh life into the highstreet”.
Open 10am-10pm 6 days per week (closed on Monday). Sessions cost £49 for 90 minutes (includes bottomless Prosecco and grazing board). Mini MasterPeace (age 6-12) is £40 for 90 minutes. MasterPeace can also be booked for private events.
